Bicycling / Walking
Bicycles must be parked in bicycle racks. Do not ride bicycles on sidewalks at any time. When parking, do not block walkways, nor attach bicycles to trees, signposts, handrails, or to anything other than bicycle racks. Bicycles that are repeatedly parked illegally may be temporarily confiscated or locked in place. UNC Asheville assumes no liability for damages to bicycles, bicycle locks, or any other bicycle equipment that may occur during confiscation. Questions? Call Parking and Transportation: 828.251.6691. To prevent theft, please register your bicycle at University Police during normal business hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Report missing or stolen bicycles to University Police. UNC Asheville Bike Shop
The UNC Asheville Bike Shop offers bike rentals and provides bike maintenance education to all students, faculty, and staff. Stop by the Bike Shop at the bottom of Highsmith Union, or visit them online: UNC Asheville Bike Shop Web Site.
UNC Asheville offers walking trails within and adjacent to campus--the University Heights loop, the Glen Creek greenway on W.T. Weaver Boulevard, the Reed Creek greenway on Broadway, and the trail through the Botanical Gardens. More information can be found on the Workplace Wellness Campus Walking webpage.
Homecoming 2014 - Feb. 27- Mar. 1
It's that time of year again for Bulldogs from all over the world to unite for our Traditional Homecoming Celebrations! Every year students, faculty, staff, and alumni gather for a wide range of events including our annual homecoming parade, tailgate, epic Bulldog basketball in our very own Kimmel Arena, a step show, and homecoming dance.
